What if we had parties and celebrations and speeches for the people who stay?  I mean think about it. How many times have you attended a "going away" celebration for the person who has resigned?  As listen to everyone going on and on about their accomplishments, what a great employee they are and how much they will be missed you wonder, "What might have been different if we had this party before they quit?"
