Meet B. Araba Wilson is an impassioned artist, literary writer, actress, photographer and singer/songwriter. Born in Ghana, West Africa, it was not until moving to New Jersey as an adolescent, that she discovered her artistic talents. In high school is where she discovered the artwork of the Atlantic City native and abstract painter, the late Jacob Lawrence, who depicted the struggles of African-Americans. She was intrigued to learn more and became more serious about her work. Araba also found inspiration from the Ghanaian abstract painter and her uncle Arthur Bucknor.
Through her love of painting and artistry in a variety of forms, she wants to inspire young children to find their internal artist and find strength and hope within themselves. Araba says, "Since realizing that part of my purpose is working with children; I love sharing my skills, expertise and lessons learned with them. A child needs at least one caring and supportive adult to succeed in life. I am glad to have the opportunity to be that adult for so many”.
Quote: “Manifest your passion into your plan & your purpose!"
