St Symeon the New Theologian Ministry for Orthodox Evangelism and Renewal: www.stsymeon.org
The St Symeon ministry was founded by Fr Eusebius Stephanou in 1968. It had been known as The Logos Ministry for over 20 years. Its base of operation was then out of Fort Wayne, Indiana. It had relocated to Miramar Beach, Florida in 1988. Fr. Stephanou not only emphasized and reaffirmed the importance of the Eucharist and the sacramental life in the spiritual growth of every Orthodox believer, but also stressed the crucial need of the ministry of the Word of God through evangelism. The ministry is Pan-Orthodox in scope and membership. It is not the goal of the ministry to introduce anything new, but to call for a return to the fundamentals of the Christian Gospel and the Lordship of Jesus Christ as set forth in the divine revelation of the New Testament. Millions today are sacramentalized but not evangelized. The preaching of the Gospel in the power of the Holy Spirit is vital for the salvation of souls and the organic building and equipping of the Body of Christ. as the temple of God and the household of God.
'So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.' (Romans 10:17)
