The tropics exploded this week. Hurricane Hanna came ashore over south Texas and dropping a lot of rain. Meanwhile, Hurricane Douglas is about to impact the Hawaiian islands today. Douglas has weakened since peaking as a category 3 earlier in the week. We continue to watch the tropics as a strong wave is making its way across the Atlantic and could begin to make impacts late into next week. Back in the US, the west coast is about to heat up. California, Oregon, and Washington will see temperatures topping out near or just above 100 degrees.
