Baarour: The New Turbine's Dark Crimes

Listen Later

In Kafr El Dawwar, Egypt, the case of Mohamed Saber—known as “Ba’rour”—shattered the image of an ordinary man. Behind the façade of running a small kiosk and billiards hall, he preyed on children, luring them into a cycle of abuse and extortion.
The truth began to surface when an 11-year-old boy reported being assaulted, prompting an investigation that revealed a horrifying pattern. Ba’rour would entice children with juice laced with drugs or trap them by accusing them of theft. Once under his control, he assaulted them and filmed the abuse, later using the recordings to blackmail his young victims into silence.
Although he initially denied the accusations and tried to maintain an image of innocence, forensic evidence and the videos recovered from his phone confirmed the children’s accounts. His crimes led to a conviction and a death sentence. The case stands as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance, trust, and open communication between parents and children to guard against such hidden dangers.
