Fresh after dominating the Billboard Countdown Awards 2021, the international South Korean sensation BTS is set to engage the services of legendary Indian rapper Baba Sehgal to enhance the band’s appeal across the whole of the world to dominate every music awards show from the Grammys to the Mirchi Music Awards.
The 7 member boy band who hail from South Korea have taken the international music scene by storm since their debut in 2013. Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook write and produce most of their songs making them, even more, relatable to the target audience. Although initially targeted towards teenage South East Asian girls, the K-Pop explosion around the world after the success of Gangnam Style by PSY propelled them into the hearts of fans worldwide. Going with the trend of die-hard fans calling themselves Beliebers or Little Monsters, the BTS fanbase is known as the ARMY.
BTS or Bangtan Sonyeondan or Bangtan Boys was initially conceptualised as a hip hop collective like the Wu-Tang Klan but then adopted a more generic style with a strong hip hop influence over the years. Hit songs include Dynamite, Butter and DNA. They have received 6 American Music Awards, 9 Billboard Music Awards and 24 Golden Disk Awards, and nominations for a Grammy Award and a Brit Award. They were also the first non-English speaking act to sell out Wembley Stadium and have also featured in Time magazine’s list of most influential people on the internet.
BTS is very active on social media and regularly drops messages to the fans, behind the scenes footage and promos to their new songs. They also recently sent a message to all fans in Indian asking them to remain calm and strong amidst the pandemic. They are also all set to announce their anniversary concert which will be online considering the current situation worldwide.
