Today we go on record to acknowledge that we the aged have become like that old oak tree, we want to do our level best to pass on to our children and our grandchildren and any other child that we come in contact with the Good News of Jesus Christ and what He has done for us in our lives. God Himself admonishes us through Moses to do that (Deuteronomy 6:7) read it. What children can learn is by caring for parents it prolongs their own lives, God commands: "Honor thy father and thy mother as the Lord thy God has commanded thee that thy days may be prolonged and that it may go well with thee and the land the Lord by God giveth thee." (Deuteronomy 5:16) read it.
Solomon admonishes parents to train their children he says: "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6) read it. The apostle Paul goes on record by way of his son in Christ Timothy in his writings he says: "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing." (2Timothy 4:7-8) read it. Babes at 60, teach your children.
