Back of the Shelf

Been a while since we chatted about some of our reviews, so let's get at it.

This week, we chew the fat about 5 games we've reviewed recently, digging a little deeper into them, and letting you know if anything has changed.

Amber highlights the fact that she never needs to know the tied-for-first-place rules.

And Ben may have uncovered a modern classic.

Enjoy!

Welcome dusty wanderers!

Join us this week as we discuss old people in gaming, wonderful first player rules and one of the worst mechanisms in a game we've ever encountered.

Merge!

We also discuss an old classic (maybe) in Targi, from the distant past of 2012. Does it still hit the target?

Shout out this week goes to our chums @kienda

Enjoy!

Bonjour, bonjour!

Welcome to this, our French episode, where we test Amber's Frenchiness, work out how to get out of playing terrible games and dig into one of all time favourites. Did it need some little additions? Were they all equal?

Our shout out goes to @fairplayboardgamecafe. Keep it up guys!

Enjoy!

Ciao BotS listeners!

Join us this week as we dig into the tricks of running a successful board game club, Amber books us tickets to Essen and we cover ourselves in all things Knizia. Finaly, we discuss whether Medici deserves it's place alongside Modern Art and Ra.

Shout out this week goes to @nothingmuchhappenspodcast perfect night time listening.

Enjoy!

Like the Welsh rains in the middle of summer, inevitably, inexplicably, we're back!

Join us, as we catch up on what games we played this summer, discuss Amber's superlative navigation skills and wonder what's going on with board game cafes these days.

Small business shout out to @thediceboxcafe

Enjoy!

Thanks for making it this far!

As we're about to take a little break for the summer, we thought we'd look back at an entire seasons games, and pick out 3 we loved, and 3 that really let everyone down. Like, really badly.

Enjoy!

It's a bugs life this week as we discuss our adventures with bring and buys, explore the complex characters of the Muppets and establish which part of America Amber is actually from.

Then we cast an eye over a hidden Knizia gem.

This weeks small business shout out goes to @theboredgamerstore

Enjoy!

There's no hiding it, we've been a bit quiet lately, but we return with a bit of a banger!

Amber continues her obsession with Bring & Buy sales, we dredge up some bad memories about @point.salad and try to figure out why it's been so difficult to play the classics.

Small business shout out goes to @commonmeepleuk looking forward to the Bring'N'Buy

Enjoy!

We return from our adventures in tropical England, full of tales and plunder.

Did Amber make it through UKGE smiling? Which part made her happy? Which part made her sad? Would she go again?

And we rattle through a ton of little games we found and played.

Enjoy!

Ciao!

We return with a tricky one; an expansion that has been described as essential, to a game at least some of us love. So will it prove true?

Meanwhile, we establish Amber's history credentials, rattle through the games we've played this week and ponder Amber's entry music.

Enjoy!
