1) Back to Basics

This week, I want to get back to basics with our podcast, and that means telling you all about the mission of this show, and how I’ve designed it to help investors successfully navigate a choppy market.

In today’s first podcast segment, I take a look at what’s happened in stocks over the past two years, and what the landscape looks like right now. Then we delve into the fixed income market, and examine the relatively low interest rates we have here in the U.S., especially compared to Europe and Japan. We also look at other market segments, e.g. real estate, hard assets such as gold, and even cash. Plus, find out why this market is a classic case of “tough sailing.”

2) ETFs as Investment Vehicles

In keep with this week’s theme of getting back to basics, our second segment is all about my preferred investment vehicles, exchange-traded funds, or ETFs. Whether you want to invest in stocks, bonds, real estate, precious metals, currencies, specific sectors or specific countries, there’s an ETF that’s right for you. Today, we look at a few of the easy-to-understand funds from ETF issuer Vanguard, and see why they are great, low-cost choices for getting broad exposure to U.S. and global equity and bond markets.

3) Your Money is a Business

In today’s final segment, I cover the importance of having a business plan for your money. Without a plan, you won’t know what road will lead you to where you want to be, and that means you’re much more likely to take too many wrong turns. If you don’t want to make big mistakes with your money, then having a plan in place critical—and helping you do that is the subject of this must-listen segment.
