The CPSC and Backcountry Access now recall Backcountry Access Tracker4 Avalanche Transceivers.  The toggle switch that permits the unit to search easily separates from the transceiver preventing the unit from locating a skier in an avalanche.  About 9,000 units were sold in the US and about 450 were sold in Canada at

REI, Evo, Cripple Creek Backcountry and other specialty stores nationwide and online at amazon.com, backcountry.com, snowbigdeal.com, jagaloon.com and specialty websites.  Stop depending on this faulty transceiver and contact Backcountry Access at 1-800-670-8735 or via email at [email protected] to receive a prepaid mailer to return our unit for a free replacement transceiver.
