As Christians, we must use good judgement in the friends that we make and in the company that we keep. It's certainly ok to have friends and companions that are not a Christian, but the problem can be if they influence you to do or participate in sin. You are to influence them by your life that you live not vice versa. Bad company can help you make bad decisions in life.
