Summary:
This Sunday's message wrestles with one of life's most difficult questions: Why do bad things happen to good people? Through the story of Job and his friend Eliphaz, we discover a dangerous but common belief - that suffering is always punishment for sin. Eliphaz argues that the world operates by a simple formula: do good, get good; if you got bad, you must have done bad. But Jesus completely shatters this thinking. He suffered without sin, proving that pain isn't always our fault. While all suffering stems from sin's corruption of our fallen world, God's purpose is greater than our pain. Rather than trying to manipulate God or figure everything out ourselves, we're invited to trust Him through our trials, knowing He never wastes our suffering.
Question:
As you reflect on your own experiences of pain or those you've witnessed in others, how might releasing the need to find someone to blame - including yourself - change the way you approach God in difficult seasons?
