The 7th July remains important date on the South African football calendar. On this day - 25 years ago (7 July 1992) South Africa played their first ever international match after readmission by world football governing body FIFA. The hastily-convened national team beat African football heavyweights, Cameroon, one-nil in a friendly match at Durban's King's Park Stadium, with midfielder Doctor Khumalo scoring a penalty. Former Bafana Bafana striker Philemon "Chippa" Masinga - who scored 18 goals in 58 appearances - remembers the match.
