When King David and the nation of Israel fell into sin, they brought God's judgment upon themselves.  We serve a God who is both just and merciful, and we will see how He balanced His justice with mercy as He dealt with Israel.  David knew God's character, and his response to his own sin gives us an example of complete and proper repentance.
