This week Rev. Mandy reflects on Jesus's teachings in Luke 18:18-30.  A rich young man comes to Jesus and calls him Good Teacher.  Join us as we unpack what Jesus means by the word "good" and how doing good can be lived out as we follow Jesus.

This week Rev. Mandy reflects on Luke 18:1-4.  Jesus tells two parables about prayer - the Widow and the Unjust Judge and the Pharisee and Tax Collector.  From this we can draw out some examples of what to avoid when we come before God in prayer.  Most importantly, we can also draw out some examples of how we are to approach God - with confident, with persistence, with humility and with honesty.

Mandy reflects on 2 Timothy 2:8-15 and Paul's exhortation to Timothy to remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead and a descendant of David in all things.  Jesus is the one who unites us as Christians but too often we focus on the things that divide us.  We wrangle over words which destroy us and our witness to the world.

We are called to remember Jesus and focus on the things that unite us, getting on with God's mission in the world, loving God and others just like Jesus commanded.

This week Rev. Mandy reflects on Luke 13:10-17.  A story of Jesus healing a woman bent over by an unclean spirit in the synagogue on the sabbath day.  This woman was bound up and in bondage but the love and compassion of Jesus set her free to enter into the intent of Sabbath - rest and freedom.  

We too can be bound up by rules and wonky thinking that prevents us from entering into God's rest.  Jesus came to set us free from all that binds us up, that we might be renewed in our thinking to love God and others, and receive freedom and rest in him.
