Next up the boys talk NFL MVP Award in what is a wide-open race to this point, with several legitimate candidates all having a case with their superb play through the first half of the season. From surprises like the Colts Daniel Jones, the Patriots Drake Maye, and old-man Rodgers leading the Steelers to first in the AFC North, to the regulars like Josh Allen & Patrick Mahomes - what a race! And dare we say, could a RB actually rise above them all to win it?

Then its that time - NBA PREVIEW time! That's right the boys talk 2025-26 NBA season including the Sixers & Bulls off to surprising starts in what looks like a wide-open Eastern Conference. Plus the Western Conference looks stacked once again with last year's defending Champs, OKC Thunder looking like they are on a mission to start the season (7-0). Wemby for MVP? The Spurs legit? Problems already in Memphis - Trae Young sidelined a month, plus Mikee's Lakers (5-2) & Chris's Bucks (5-2) are both off to solid starts, respectively. Welcome back everyone to the BALLS AND BEARDS PODCAST presented by FAT BOY's TACOs! In today's all-NBA episode special, the boys tip-off the festivities with an NBA Finals recap featuring our special guest (and big Thunder fan!) Tony!

After discussing the Thunder getting it done in a thrilling 7-game series against the upstart Pacers, & bringing home the city's first Title since the move to OKC, the boys talk NBA Draft where the least surprising pick ever occurred at the top as Justin's Mavs took Cooper Flagg #1 overall. There were some surprises however, and the boys were not a fan of the #5 overall pick - don't miss what the fellas had to say about the draft.

Then it's onto the Kevin Durant trade - the Rockets made a move to break up their young core a bit that had managed to shoot up to the #2 seed in the West this past season. Will KD ease in and help Houston get to the Finals, or was this a bad move that might have just erased the giant leaps taken this past season?

Then of course it would not be an episode without our "Golden Beard of the Week Award". Plus the boys discuss the incredible series between the Nuggets & Clippers and of course the surprising early exits of both Chris's Bucks & Mikee's Lakers in just 5 games to the Pacers & T-Wolves, respectively. What went wrong for both?

Welcome back all to the BALLS AND BEARDS PODCAST! In today's all-NBA Season 5 Episode 10, the boys have you covered with a full rundown of both the Eastern & Western Conferences as teams make their final push for playoff positioning ahead of the postseason.

The East is pretty well set, but the West is far from decided as the #2 - #8 spots are yet to be decided... The Warriors are continuing their climb up the standings, the Grizzlies continue to slide, and the Rockets, Lakers, and Nuggets remain in the thick of things. OKC has already easily wrapped-up the top spot, but there is much to be decided in the juggernaut that is the Western Conference.

Then it's time to give out some hardware - Balls and Beards style! That's right, its the BALLS AND BEARDS PODCAST NBA AWARDS. The fellas give you their picks for Rookie of the Year, Most Improved Player, 6th Man of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, and MVP. There was a consensus (2/3) on every pick except COY where the boys were evenly split with 3 deserving picks. So who takes home the BALLS AND BEARDS Hardware??

Then it's onto the NBA where we are inching closer toward the playoffs. The West has become a jumbled, heated juggernaut as OKC continues to distance themselves from the pack, but the Nuggets, Lakers, surging Rockets, and Grizzlies all find themselves just two games apart while jostling for position between the 2-5 spots. In the East, it's same old same old as the top 6 are pretty well set in stone by this point, and we are trending toward having a pair of historically bad teams make the play-in.

Lastly, it wouldn't be an episode without the Golden Beard of the Week Award! Last week Mikee got back in the win column, and then we had a first for this week as both Mikee & Justin had the same nominee! Will their joint-nominee take home the Award or will it be Chris's turn?
