Today our host Jimmy Bell discusses the idea of a trauma-informed Ballymun with guests Katy Mac Andrew from the Star Project Ballymun and Micheal Clear from Aisling Project Ballymun. This project has been underway since June 2021.

Trauma in all manifestations has been recognised as a key determinant and underlying cause of many of our community's social issues, whether it be substance use issues or physical and mental health issues and an array of other problems. While recovery from substance use has to date been our main focus on these podcasts, there is a recognition that drug and alcohol use are, in many cases, symptoms of a wider problem or issue. Trauma being a key one.
