The plaintive dance of the lowly bamboo shoot on monumental Mr Suji in the Eastern reaches recalls bygone breakfasts reveries. The orchestra naif ensemble brings together the call of the Hulusi, bamboo flutes, the "single stringed danang", gongs, blocks and assorted percussion with bowed bass and zither and an occasional exclamatory phrase loosely untranslatable.
