Poem 19: "BANANA" -

I slipped and fell,

Maybe I tripped on a banana peel.

When I ravenously scavenged out the entire cake instead of just one slice,

The banana peel was greed.

When I embarrassed myself at an office gathering by blurting out a bad joke,

The banana peel was stupidity.

When I succumbed to the jitters of amateurish psyche,

The banana peel was inexperience.

When I got trapped in the cycle of procrastination and missed my goals,

The banana peel was laziness.

When I won a petty argument but lost a special relationship,

The banana peel was ego.

Adulthood has so many metaphorical banana peels along the way,

I better watch my step!
