1. His Remarkable Spiritual Qualities 2. Engaging in Parental Intercession 3. With Noteworthy Persistence The sermon examines Job as a model of godly parenthood, emphasizing his spiritual maturity and consistent integrity before God. It highlights the critical role of parental intercession, where Job persistently offered sacrifices for his children to ensure their standing with the Lord. The preacher defines true godliness as fearing God and eschewing evil, urging believers to prioritize divine approval over social acceptance. By analyzing Job's character and actions, the text illustrates how faithful instruction and prayer safeguard the spiritual legacy of future generations. Ultimately, the message encourages parents to emulate Job's dedication in raising children who walk in truth and reverence for God.

Finally, know and never doubt the sovereign authority of Christ over all things. Remember that much of the heresies the church had to deal with in history were Trinitarian heresies. Much of them focused on Christ, either denying His humanity, or denying His deity. Therefore, hear God the Father's words in Matthew 17 "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!", and truly listen to Him. Hear Jesus' declaration in Matthew 28 that all authority has been given to Him in Heaven and on earth, and then go and obey Him!

Many important truths are found in these verses but this message settles on the words of Christ in verse fifteen. It expands to show the relationship between this statement and Jesus' words found in chapter five, verses 17 and 18. It concludes by asking, "how does Jesus' baptism fulfill righteousness?" Simply put, His public obedience at baptism led to His public obedience at death. Righteousness was established by His sinless obedience.

The third chapter of Matthew records two important events. This message concerns the first of the two. John the Baptist or "baptizer," the cousin of Jesus and at roughly the same age steps on the page of Scripture as prophesied by Isaiah. He is the forerunner of Christ. He comes as an Old Testament prophet. He calls men to repent and publicly confess their sins. Baptism in water is the mechanism God gave them to make this open declaration.

Stay awake, because you do not know when the master returns. Drawing on Jesus's parable of the doorkeeper in Mark 13, this sermon diagnoses the symptoms of spiritual sleepiness, the defensiveness, the unfeeling conscience, the drift from duty, and calls believers back to their post. What keeps the doorkeeper awake is not willpower but the certainty that the one who died for us will not forget us.
