Stories in Our Roots

Barbara Tien | The Stories Within Photographs

Listen Later

#48. In this episode Barbara shares:

  • Her experience growing up overseas and in Hawaii and how that influenced her identity as an American
  • How our perspective of events in our past and of the actions of others change as we get older
  • Why the photo site Ponga is more like your living room and less like the town square of social media

About Barbara:

Barbara is a startup founder, passionate about visual communications and family stories. She traveled extensively as a child but had few opportunities to connect with her own extended family or get to know her home country here in the US. She loves culture and languages, is an avid networker and public speaker. She pays it forward in any way she can, actively supporting other startups — taking special care to support other women founders.
