About this Episode: Hall of Fame Coach Dave Riggs made history in 1973 by becoming Akron Coventry's 1st State Champ. He then attended Arizona University where he was an NCAA Qualifier. After a short stint of coaching at Arizona, he returned to coach at a few schools before settling in at Massilon Perry. At Perry, he would go on to have a coaching career most dream to have. He coached 30 State Champions, 106 State Placewinners, 25 Top 10 State Team Finishes. In 2014 he put together an incredible team that brought home both the Dual and Team State title. He now runs Riggs Elite that offers supplemental training to elite wrestlers.
