In which the unfortunate Barnaby is escorted with prudent care to the military barracks, where he is confined within a dark and dismal cell, his senses keenly attuned to the surroundings and the bitter discourse of soldiers nearby. Amidst the clamorous hostility of the crowds and the stern vigilance of his guards, he is ultimately removed to Newgate, fettered and forsaken, with but the melancholy companionship of his faithful bird.
