Barnahus, or Child’s House, is a multi-agency and child focused response for victims and witnesses of violence. Across Europe, the model is characterised by intensive, multi-agency and ongoing support, child friendly setting, and a single forensic interview. Children and young people’s rights to support, participation, decision making and justice are enshrined in the model.
Fiona Wardell and Rachel Hewitt from NHS Healthcare Improvement Scotland discuss the ongoing implementation process for national standards which will underpin a Barnahus model in Scotland.
