I don't consider myself a 'computer person'. Becoming a Data Scientist is the last thing I would’ve guessed was in store for me. The problem for me is I’m a huge people person and there’s a widespread misconception that programmers are introverts and hate people. So for several years I agonized over finding a career — totally ignoring programming — until I went to see a career counselor who steered me toward the unthinkable. Right away, I found a sense of fulfillment in giving presentations and solving data problems. I'm a creative person and I think science depends on creativity.
