There is hope of a respite after the breathless revelations surrounding the Jami-Lee Ross saga.
National's Botany MP is now in an Auckland mental health facility, after a week of turbulence - the likes of which are seldom seen in this country's politics.
Newstalk ZB political editor Barry Soper told Tim Dower the next few days should be a little quieter.
"What it means in the short term obviously is that he will be on leave from parliament, in the meantime, I think there will be a bit of respite and I think everybody will be very thankful for that."
"Jami-Lee Ross will be getting the help that he obviously needs and I'm sure the National Party will pull back now as well."
