Jacinda Ardern has already emerged as one of the leaders to watch from this week's UN Leaders' Week.
The prime minister was the keynote speaker at the annual Social Good Summit and told her audience there needs to be a culture change in the workplace.
She is expected to make the case for UN reform, during a speech to the UN General Assembly later this week.
Political editor Barry Soper told Mike Hosking her itinerary will also include a string of media appearances, and possibly a face-to-face meeting with Donald Trump.
"The interest in Jacinda Ardern here in New York is already quite big."
