Basem Wasef is a veteran automotive journalist, author, and director with a passion for all things mechanical. Born in Cairo and raised in London and Southern California, Basem’s vehicular fascination can be traced back to his early childhood when he sang “Happy Birthday” to his Matchbox cars. He has since written three books, the most recent of which is Speed Read: Supercars.Basem is a regular contributor to magazines including Automobile, Men’s Journaland Robb Report. Though he travels the world to pilot exotic cars and motorcycles, Basem enjoys calling Los Angeles home.
