Basic Mammograms Aren't Enough

Mark Bingaman and Sherry Fisher talk with Tammy Egleton of Cuyahoga Falls. She recounts her breast cancer journey after standard 2D and 3D mammograms and an ultrasound failed to detect a tumor due to dense breast tissue. She paid for a fast MRI that revealed an advanced-stage cancer which required surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation.

Tammy now supports House Bill 371 to require annual screening coverage, include 3D mammograms, allow supplemental imaging like ultrasound and MRI for those with dense breasts, and improve the clarity of dense-breast notices. She urges everyone to be their own advocate and listen to their bodies.
