Tyler King is back for a solo edition of Basketball in the Mountains with a complete recap of a fun Saturday slate of college hoops in the MT time zone.
He starts in the Big 12, where Arizona took care of business against Utah in Salt Lake City and Colorado picked up an important road win at Arizona State. The Wildcats remain unbeaten at 14-0 thanks to a balanced effort against the Utes, while the Buffs got their first road win since March 2024 thanks to a gritty performance in their conference opener.
Also in the Big 12, BYU won its 10th straight with a victory at Kansas State that was fueled by another stellar showing by freshman AJ Dybantsa.
Before wrapping up, Tyler touches on a few games in the Mountain West, led by Colorado State's impressive road win at Grand Canyon as the shorthanded Rams snapped a two-game losing streak to begin conference play and grabbed Ali Farokhmanesh his first Mountain West win as a head coach.
Finally, New Mexico pulled away from Wyoming in the second half for a solid home win that was led by Croatian freshman Tomsilva Buljan, while Boise State dropped a three overtime thriller at San Diego State.
