This year is the 20th anniversary of Batman Begins, the first film of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. Batman Begins intentionally had a much darker and more serious tone than did Batman and Robin, which many critics ridiculed for its campy and humorous tone, a choice that most audiences greatly appreciated.
