Batman makes his twelfth appearance in the pages of Detective Comics issue 38 from April 1940 and Robin makes his debut! We get the tried-and-true origin of Dick Grayson who sees his acrobat father and mother killed by the mob in what appears to be a tragic accident. Batman knows what really happened and together, he and Dick Grayson, who he trains as his sidekick- Robin, seek justice. The tone of Batman changes starting with this issue, but Robin also straight up murders a dude. Let's talk about it!
