Batman the Animated Series Podcast

Our hosts return to the Podtower and watch “Fury Part 1” for the very first time.

Alex and Will discuss Aresia, a rogue Amazon who’s determined to give every male on the planet the Man Flu. Ironically, Alex is coming down with a cold during this review as well, so that's fun!

Aresia teams up with Lex Luthor’s not-so-famous Injustice Gang, which means more Copperhead and The Shade... yay..But, hey! At least Solomon Grundy is back! And he's a super nice guy now!

Plus, Batman admits he wears make-up, Superman gets everyone sick, German Germ Warfare is created, and Grundy hangs out with the gals on Paradise Island while watching The Real Housewives of Gotham City.

Our hosts swing into Central City to watch The Brave and the Bold Part 2.

Alex and Will share their thoughts on the plot of this episode and why it's very similar to the previously reviewed The Enemy Below, but not as good!

Plus, Batman swaps the Dark Knight persona for the White Knight as he comes to Wonder Woman’s rescue — and gets a kiss for his troubles! Gorilla Grodd's girlfriend likes it when he's not wearing a peel on his banana. The Flash turns Grodd's brain into banana pudding and Batman encounters his greatest weakness yet...stairs!

WARNING: This episode contains many banana puns, if you or anyone you know is sensitive to banana puns, this episode might not be very a-peeling.

Our hosts head to Central City for their first viewing of “The Brave and the Bold, Part 1”!

Alex and Will discuss the DCAU debut of Gorilla Grodd, where this episode gets its title from, and why yet another two-parter feels like it could have easily been one episode.

Plus, The Flash gets fat and becomes The Trash, Gorilla City unveils the incredible power of Banananainium, and Green Lantern insists there’s no such thing as talking monkeys—even though he’s an intergalactic space cop who’s already met the Ultra-Humanite.

Our hosts leave the DC universe and head to the Marvel universe to watch X-Men ’92’s “Days of Future Past” episodes for the very first time! And since they aren’t eXperts on the show, they thought they’d bring on someone who is!

Joining Alex and Will for this review is @irsvoices the voice of Bishop in X-Men ’97.

This episode of the Ani-Mates is available to all, but if you’d like to see more of us reviewing animated shows outside of the DCAU then head to our Patreon or YouTube Memberships page! (SEE LINKS BELOW)

But for now, pop your claws and dial back your clocks, because it’s time to take the X-Men back to the ’90s!

Our hosts return to War World and review the second part of this Gladiator themed episode.

Alex and Will discuss Draaga's bad a$$ branding scene and try to understand why people don't like this 2 parter after it being an instant favourite of theirs.

Plus, we discover that Martian Manhunter thinks Superman is a Super Guy, Green Lantern and Hawkgirl fight like a couple on holiday, and Superman is grossed out by aliens.

Our hosts take a trip to War World as they watch Gladiator—I mean John Carter—I mean Thor: Ragnarok—I mean War World Part 1.

Alex and Will watch the episode for the first time and share their thoughts on what Bruce Timm calls “the weakest episode of Justice League.” But do our hosts feel the same way?

They take note of the episode’s many nods to Star Wars and versus fighting games, while also giving their thoughts on the alien champion Draaga and the evil overlord Mongul.

Our hosts also discover that Superman is apparently vulnerable to dirt being thrown in his eyes, while Martian Manhunter is often mistaken for Matt Damon.

Our hosts journey to the Underworld as they continue their watch of Paradise Lost Part 2.

Alex and Will discuss the introduction of Hades into the DCAU and wonder (no pun intended) if this version is maybe Wonder Woman's father? Considering he dated her Mother in the past and her father has yet to be mentioned on the show. Is that why men are banned from Themyscira? So, Hippolyta doesn't acquire any more crazy ex-boyfriends?

Speaking of Hippolyta, Alex also learns how to pronounce her name properly, but soon forgets and goes back to his old ways.

Plus, Wonder Woman reveals what that smell is in the Underworld, the Justice League fight a bunch of White Walkers, Batman tries to fight a God with Batarangs, and Martian Manhunter changes his name to Eminem and discovers he has a tiny tongue.

Our hosts jet off to Paradise Island for this episode as they watch and review Paradise Lost Part 1.

Alex and Will are introduced to Wonder Woman’s world of Greek mythology and a new villain, Felix Faust, who’s about as boring as the stone statues he creates. Plus, there’s Hades, who sounds suspiciously like Gimli!

Our hosts also discover that The Flash thinks chicks love iced mochas, Martian Manhunter tries his hand at Def Jam poetry, Batman is tired of being asked to Google things, and there are plenty of outdated references for anyone listening to this episode in 2036.

Our hosts return to the Podtower to watch and review Injustice For All Part 2.

Alex and Will find that part 2 is not as good as part 1, however it features some great Batman moments as he quickly manipulates and plays the Injustice Gang against each other. But, maybe using bribery with Ultra Humanite was a step too far - it is a crime after all!

Our hosts also discover that Solomon Grundy needs money for a line of skin care products that he's starting up with his Spanish cousin, Andale Grande.

Plus, Batman can't help but put the moves on another cat lady, the entrance to the Watchtower is just a garage door clicker, and Martian Manhunter forces Batman to listen to his life story telepathically.
