Take one part Howard Cosell, sprinkle on a dash of Bruce Jenner, and fold in the top celebrity talent that the major television networks had to offer.  Then bake slowly over an Olympic flame of genuine athletic competition,  and what do you get?  Only the greatest television spectacle of the mid-70's, the Battle of the Network Stars!  We looked forward to watching these every time they came on, but they are even more entertaining viewing 40+ years later.
