This week on Bakers Bantering, we chat with our friend Jared who makes things go BOOM at WWE events! Derek informs everyone that this is Producer Ellis’ last week producing the podcast, but he’ll be on the mic one more time next week for a proper send off. We went to see Hairspray at the Fox Theater and thankfully we were in the last row because Derek was DANCING the whole time. We got to meet some big Baker Banter fans AND the star who plays Tracy Turnblad who just so happens to be from St. Louis (0:55-7:28). Bittersweet moments were shared as we closed on Mimi’s house on Saturday. Jenna has peculiar car troubles and recruits her dad for help over her fiancé. (7:29-10:50). OUR KANSAS CITY CHIEFS ARE SUPER BOWL CHAMPS for the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW and we recap all the action and celebrity sightings (10:51-20:15). Jenna almost got scammed for Taylor Swift tickets but thank goodness she didn’t send the payment. Eric went fishing with our buddies from the Driftwood Outdoors Podcast and even with years of experience on the river, something out of the ordinary happened (20:16-25:47). Our good friend Jared joins us via Zoom and gives us all details about being a pyrotechnician for the WWE. Cody Rhodes has the most elaborate entrance by far, and he shares how unpredictable things can get during Monday Night RAW and SmackDown every week (25:57-36:40). Jared outlines the intricacies of his team and the many moving parts that have to work together to produce a high caliber show. He opens up about life on the road but enjoys the thrill of traveling and appreciates the small bits of downtime he gets every once in a while, including a recent cruise complete with wrestlers and rockstars (36:41-1:02:26). Derek wants more of an inside scoop on some of the wrestlers and asks Jared his opinions on some of Derek’s bold predictions (1:02:27-1:10:32). Derek starts off the Weekly Wrestling Wrap Up with a Deja Vu moment in AEW, and shares some big news from Tony Khan (1:10:42-1:20:31). Bigger news arrives from SmackDown, as Dakota Kai makes her return and comes to the aid of Bayley when she needed it most. PLUS Derek makes BOLD predictions for the Elimination Chamber (1:20:32-1:29:56).
