Today we're exploring the discomfort we feel in social situations and how we linger a little too long with the discomfort of an awkward encounter after the fact.
Social acceptance is important to us on a biological level, even for those of us who like to spend time alone and maybe don't love being around people all that much.
From an evolutionary perspective we were more likely to survive in a group rather than alone and that survival coding still exists within us.
But what about that track that won't stop playing in your head after an awkward social situation that says "you're such an idiot, they think you're stupid"
How do we stop obsessing?
Get in there and give it a listen for more!
In the episode I reference another episode about social anxiety from last year but I just discovered that was a newsletter I sent, not a podcast.... so sign up for the newsletter if you want ALL the things!
