Hello and welcome.
Today I'm addressing a question that I heard that really stuck with me and I think it's worth a little investigation.
This question is, "Why do you have more passion for your past than your future?" Bam. That question hit me hard when I heard it and I've been thinking about it for a couple weeks and it keeps popping into my head as I work with clients.
If you're focused on things that have already happened you're wasting energy that you could be spending to create what you want in this moment moving forward.
I was stuck in this space for a long time wanting to prove that I wasn't just a product of my environment, the circumstances I grew up in, and the things that happened to me. I spent so much of my time and energy focusing on how I wasn't what I had come from... I was stuck in that place. That is where I lived.
Although our lived experiences shape us and how we navigate the world, we have the opportunity in each moment to choose to pivot in a new direction. This means confronting all of our existing patterns of thought and behavior and assessing which ones are useful to the life we want to be living, and how we want to be in the world.
Is this easy? Absolutely not. It's hard AF.
Is it worth it? Absolutely. Invaluable.
Get in there and give it a listen.
