BC fire chief raises mirror police pay overhaul

By Nelson Phillips Staff writer [email protected] The Brigham City Council approved raises for the city’s top fire officials as part of a new structured pay system aimed at improving transparency and career advancement within the department. Under an ordinance passed April 3, the fire chief’s annual salary is now set at 1,024, while the assistant fire chief will earn 8,211. The amounts include vehicle allowances, deferred compensation and budgeted bonuses. The raises are part of a step-in-grade pay system approved in the city’s current fiscal year budget.
