On episode 25 of the Beaver County History Podcast, we present a live recording of the 2023 Pig Lady Fall Folklore Celebration, an annual community event in New Galilee, Pennsylvania in recognition of Beaver County's Appalachian history and heritage. The celebration is in partnership with the Little Beaver Lions Club's charitable Pumpkin Palooza festivities.
This year’s event features the folkmusic of Tony Sorce and Mark Bergfelt of the Z-Town Street Band (begins at 00:07:00), the JM Gishbauger Memorial Tall Tale reading by Cara McGaff & Madison Hornbeck (01:13:45), our classic Pig Lady of Cannelton Tale by Tony Lavorgne (01:19:20), and a discussion about the Barbara Davidson paranormal investigation by the Ohio Paranormal Investigation Team (OPIT) from East Liverpool, Ohio (01:29:50).
