With the coming of COVID, Tyler Glavocich found himself in a concerning position as all his work opportunities were falling apart. A month of waiting turned into year and a half when he found an internship with Leon Foundation of Excellence. He grabbed the chance and had an experience that affected him in a very personal way, leading to his current position as the Board President of The Leon Foundation of Excellence.
During the internship Tyler was committed to treating people as equals. In his work with a person with Autism his eyes were opened to his own biases. This experience taught him a lesson that supports him all throughout his career and relationships, driving him to be a better and kinder person.
Although he didn’t have a good relationship with his biological mother growing up, Tyler has developed a sense of self-awareness that allows him to not only hold space for his own difficult emotions and reactivity, but also show empathy for other people’s life experiences.
