Come follow - its an imperative interjection with force

 

Follow my dad in the woods when we were hunting, he would just almost run… My legs are shorter, I am in the woods, there are hungry animals in the woods, I do not know where I am at and it’s freezing out - You can’t lose me. I will follow no matter what it takes. 

 

I KNOW WHAT IS AT STAKE 

IF I DO NOT FOLLOW JESUS

 

BUT HERE IS THE KEY TO THIS VERSE - 

“I will make”

I will cause you to become… I will form, fashion, construct you in such a way that you will become fishers of men

*BUT WE GOTTA FOLLOW TO BE FORMED

 

 

IF WE FOLLOW WE GET FORMED… EARNEST FOLLOW

 

I think its fair to say that many times we think it will be easier to follow as we become like him, but here it states that if we simply follow him, his ways, his words, his voice- we will become like him. 

MY POINT IS… we think it will be easier to follow him if we wait to somehow supernaturally become like him, and yet its more about simply doing what he says will make us more like him. 

Are you going to be more like someone by reading about them and studying them or waiting for them to instruct you…or is it simply a matter of hanging out with them and doing what they do… I think you know the answer. Lets do it!
