This Sunday we will be looking at some of the most startling and sobering words of Jesus we find in Matthew’s Gospel.

“And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.” Mat 10:38-39.

Jesus is saying that a true follower of His needs to be willing, not only to be associated with the shame and humiliation as a criminal carrying his own cross to his own crucifixion, but they must also willing to loose one's life for the sake of Christ. It is something that many Christians overlook. We share in Christ’s shame and humiliation. We share in Christ’s death and resurrection. And as we do this, He promises that we will also share in His glory.
