2 Peter 1:5-11

Because we have "obtained a faith by the righteousness of Jesus Christ," Peter says we should now "make every effort to supplement our faith." Far from a call to earn God's grace, this is a call to grace-fueled effort in everyday life. For this reason, says Peter, not only should we supplement our faith, but also examine our life so we can confirm our calling and election.
