One of my favorite memories is from last Christmas, when I was in China and I was preparing to speak at a church.  I planned to meet with Reverend Chang, an amazing woman who had been wanting us to come to China for three years to preach the Gospel in her church. It took that long to get the details worked out but finally, we were there.

On the day I was supposed to preach, our team got lost trying to find the room we needed to be in. When we thought we had found the room, we peeked in. Nobody was there – or so we thought. It took me a few seconds to realize that actually the room was full with all the elders, including Reverend Chang. The reason we didn’t see them is because they were bowed low in prayer, on their faces. It was so beautiful and humbling. It was incredible to witness. The Christians of China for years have inspired our team by their faithfulness and steadfast commitment to spreading the Good News. And in that moment, their posture and prayerful hearts for the message that morning and for the people of their communities was such a beautiful picture for all of us.

May we be consistently found low in prayer, submitted to the work of God in our hearts and the hearts of those around us. Only then can He use us to reach our world.
