After ten days of watching the world track and field championships, I noticed a disturbing trend. Athletes would finish their race, and most, not all mind you, would lie down almost collapsing, on the track.
What? In the old days lying down after you finished was reserved for one of two situations, 1) you were awaiting the arrival of an ambulance or 2) it was hours later and you had earned a nap.
Now I’m not sure why athletes would choose this.
