It’s easy to think about and love ourselves, those closest to us or people we see regularly. To be love to people we don’t see, or hear from very often at all, if ever, is a different kind of love altogether; a different mindeset and pattern of thinking. For those of us who live in a society where things like food, water and shelter are commonplace, it’s easy to forget that a lot of the world misses out on one or more of those basic items on a daily basis. Many of them are fleeing from violence or devastation. For most of those people, without the intervention from – that is, the love of – people in a better situation, death is knocking on their door. Our world needs us to be love.
