Valentines Day wasn't always about hearts, flowers, and chocolates. It goes all the way back to Ancient Rome and wasn't exactly the modern day version of romance unless you liked getting whipped. Some people like that. Come to find out there is more than one St Valentine! The one most commonly associated with the holiday is the saint of epilepsy, beekeepers and lovers. There's more to it than just a Hallmark holiday.

Tonights concoction is the Bloody Valentine: bourbon, blood orange juice, orange bitters, blood orange liqueur, shaken until chilled, strain into glass.
