Be Patient On Your Writing Journey.

Listen Later

When I started writing my first book I set a few goals and among those goals was when I wanted to

finish but I never hit that target. The Covid-19 pandemic had only just started so I faced a lot of

challenges as I tried to navigate this new project I had started and the pandemic. It was frustrating

when things didn't go according to plan. But over time, I have been learning to be patient with myself.

As an author you need to be patient with yourself because anything can happen and the goals you have set

can change in an instance because of unforeseen circumstances.

The goal is to keep moving forward and not being hard on yourself when things don't work out.

Even though I missed my deadline by a few months, I felt a sense of pride and accomplishment when I

did eventually publish my book.

Writing a book is a journey and the journey is filled with highs and lows and you need to learn how to deal

with that. Don't put unnecessary pressure on your self when life happens.

Patience is a critical skill you need to have as an author.
