In 1 Samuel 2:32–33, an unnamed man delivers a message from God. I’ve been calling him Bob, and the more I sit with this story, the more I realize something: sometimes we’re all Bob.

Not every message from God is dramatic or heavy. Sometimes it’s as simple as showing kindness, offering encouragement, or being present for someone who needs it.
