Be Still

Listen Later

We hear “Be Still” a lot! But what does it really mean to truly…be…still? We go into Mark 4 where Jesus calms the storm and then asks the disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” It’s hard to be still when we don’t trust who God says He is and His promises. We talk about unbelief and what that does to us when we’re going through storms in our own lives. How can we start trusting God and believing who He is and His love for us when it doesn’t feel like He’s listening or cares?

Bible Passage:

“He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, ‘Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?’ They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!” Mark 4:39-41 (NIV)
